Microsoft 365 Copilot SMB Pricing Changes July 1, 2026: What You Need to Know Before the Deadline

Microsoft is making a permanent change to how Copilot is sold to small and medium-sized businesses. From July 1, 2026, Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot and Microsoft 365 Business Premium with Copilot become permanent standalone SKUs — no longer time-limited promotional bundles. If you manage licensing for an SMB, this changes how you buy, budget, and renew Copilot. And if you have not yet locked in the current promotional pricing, July 1 is the deadline.

What Is Changing on July 1

Microsoft ran Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot and Business Premium with Copilot as time-limited promotional bundles since late 2025. From July 1, these become permanent product SKUs with updated list prices.

Business Standard + Copilot

$23.50

per user / month (new list price)

Business Premium + Copilot

$32.00

per user / month (new list price)

Copilot Business standalone

$21.00

per user / month — unchanged

The standalone Microsoft 365 Copilot Business SKU ($21/user/month) is not changing price. The price increases apply to the bundled M365 + Copilot products. Existing customers on commercial Microsoft 365 subscriptions will see the new prices at their next renewal after July 1, 2026 — not immediately.

Who These SKUs Are For

The Microsoft 365 Business with Copilot SKUs are designed for organisations with 300 or fewer users. This is the official SMB definition Microsoft uses for these products. Organisations with more than 300 users should consider Microsoft 365 Copilot (the enterprise offering), which has no seat cap.

What you get in each bundle

Business Standard with Copilot

  • All Microsoft 365 Business Standard apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Business AI features
  • Up to 300 seats

Business Premium with Copilot

  • All Microsoft 365 Business Premium features (includes Intune, Entra ID P1, Defender)
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Business AI features
  • Up to 300 seats

Promotions Still Running Through December 2026

Despite the price increase on the bundles, Microsoft has kept several promotions running for SMBs through the end of 2026:

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business (15% off)

$18/user/month · Annual subscription · 1–300 seats · through Dec 31, 2026

15% off

Business Basic + Copilot Business bundle (25% off)

$21/user/month after discount · through Dec 31, 2026

25% off

Purview Suite add-on (50% off for Business Premium + Copilot)

$10/user/month standard price — 50% off when bundled with Business Premium + Copilot

50% off

Should You Buy Before July 1

If your organisation is already using or evaluating Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium and planning to add Copilot, there is a clear financial case for purchasing before June 30. The current promotional pricing on the bundles is lower than the new list prices taking effect July 1. Locking in an annual subscription before the deadline means you pay the lower rate for the full subscription term.

What to check before renewing or buying

  • Is your current subscription expiring before or after July 1? If it renews after July 1, the new prices apply at renewal — plan your budget accordingly
  • Are you under 300 seats? If so, the Business SKUs are the right choice — above 300, move to the enterprise Copilot offering
  • Purchasing via a CSP partner? Price list preview for the new July SKUs was available from June 1 in Partner Center — your partner should have this information
  • Annual commitment only — these plans are not available month-to-month

How to Purchase

Microsoft 365 Business Copilot SKUs are available through three channels:

The plans can be added to any Microsoft 365 for business plan, including plans without Microsoft Teams.
